Beautiful Frosty Morning















The 2025 edition of Omagh Christian Brothers School 10K/5K was on Sat 1st Feb at 11am.
There were 246 runners in the 10K & 100 runners in the 5K.
Winners were:
Women : Aimee Mullin 38:54
Men : Eoin Mullan 00:32:37

The course is fairly hilly but has some great long slow down hill sections. One going down the Crevenagh rd (Approx 1 mile of down hill), and one for the final 1K push to the finish line. Yes, that makes it great for a fast finish where you can really empty the tank! 🙂
As is custom with any good event in the local area, the post-race refreshments were generous and high quality!

Week 4 of 2025 saw the worst storm in Northern Ireland in 30 years.
The first ever RED weather (threat to life) warning was issued.
All schools were closed. And almost all businesses either closed or asked their staff to work from home where possble.
The storm started in the early hours of Fri 24th. And peaked around 10am.
Most of the town lost their electricity for the day.
Some remained without power until time of writing this (Sat 25th 8:30pm).
A trip to the Mullaghcarn Mountain Giant in the Gortin Glen’s Forest Park (Omagh). And Lovers Retreat has thawed during the 3rd week of the new year
